The protagonist of the new CBS pilot God Friended Me is Miles Finer (Brandon Michael Hall, The Mayor). The outspoken atheist is besides himself when he receives a friend request from “God” on social media. Curious, he accepts the request and is led to beautiful journalist Cara Bloom (Violett Beane, The Flash). Together they investigate “God’s” friend suggestions and inadvertently help others along the way. You would think that Miles’ father, the beloved Reverend Arthur Finer of Harlem’s Trinity Church, would be pleased with Miles’ new friend.

Reverend Arthur Finer is portrayed by Joe Morton. The Harlem native is known for his roles on Scandal (Olivia’s father Eli Pope, for which he won an Emmy), Proof (Dr. Charles Richmond), Eureka (Henry Deacon), The Good Wife (Daniel Golden), A Different World (Whitley’s boyfriend Byron Douglas III), and in a variety of the films including Speed (Capt. McMahon), Of Mice and Men (Crooks), and Terminator 2 (Miles Dyson), among others. God Friended Me airs Sundays at 8:30pm on CBS, right after 60 Minutes, and right before NCIS: Los Angeles.
