The original 1996 TV film No One Would Tell is based on the true story of Jamie Fuller, a 16-year-old boy who murdered his 14-year-old girlfriend, Amy Carnevale, in 1991 in Beverly, Massachusetts. (He stabbed her with a knife and then dumped her body, weighted down with cinder blocks, in a pond.) In 1992, a jury rejected defense claims that Fuller was driven to kill by his abuse of steroids and alcohol. Asked why he killed Carnevale, Fuller said: ″Why? I don’t know. I can’t really explain why. I wasn’t in the right state of mind, I guess.″ Fuller received the mandatory life sentence without parole.
