Jordin Sparks: A Baby Story is a one-hour special on Lifetime (Thursday, September 6) which features the lives of newlyweds Jordin Sparks and fitness model Dana Isaiah Thomas. The now 28-year-old American Idol winner (2007) eloped with Thomas, 26, in Hawaii in November 2017. Shortly after, they discovered they were pregnant. A Baby Story tells the story of how they decided to have a natural childbirth at Natural Birth Center & Women’s Wellness. On May 2, 2018, they welcomed son Dana Isaiah Thomas, Jr., aka DJ, to world. Just days after DJ was born, Sparks made an appearance (at least her voice did) in the buddy-cop family comedy movie Show Dogs with Will Arnett. She will appear next on the big screen in the spiritual film, God Bless the Broken Road (out in theaters on Friday, September 7).
It’s been a big year for Thomas, too. In addition to becoming a father for the first time, he’s also written a book. A Higher Calling: Claiming God’s Best for Your Life (see link above to pre-order) which will be released on November 13. The book includes 31 “mini-chapter” devotions on issues facing young adults, and a discussion guide for group use. Two-time Grammy Award-winning rap artist Lecrae Moore, wrote the foreword for Thomas’s book, which is published by Zondervan, a founding member of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, and a part of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Inc. Jordin Sparks: A Baby Story airs Thursday, September 6 at 10pm on Lifetime.
