The CBS Pink Collar Crimes episode “The She-Wolf of Wall Street” interviews ex-convict Jamila T. Davis. At the age of 25, the single mom became a high-flying real estate investor in New Jersey. She says the nightmare of her life started on April 3, 2003, when she received a call from her then-boyfriend, who played football for the New York Giants. He told Davis that his boss (the owner of the NFL team) told him he got a call from the FBI about his girlfriend who is under investigation and is on the FBI’s fraud alert.

The FBI continued to call Davis’ clients and colleagues and according to Davis, “quickly, my reputation and my ability to make money had diminished.” Five years later, in 2008, Davis was found guilty of defrauding several banks including Lehman Brothers out of more than $14 million in inflated mortgages for high-end homes. Davis was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison. Lehman Brothers collapsed that same year.

While Davis doesn’t mention her boyfriend by name, she does in her memoir, The High Price I Had To Pay (see link above too). Ronald “Ron” Dixon is a retired NFL wide receiver. After playing college football at Lambuth University in Tennessee, Dixon was drafted by the New York Giants in 2001. He’s best known for his 97-yard kick return for a touchdown in Super Bowl XXXV in 2000. (It was the only score for the Giants; they lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-7). After a PCL injury in his left knee, Dixon retired from the NFL in 2005. In 2016, Dixon became the membership director of NFL Alumni Central Florida in Orlando. He’s moved on romantically too. See the cute photo of Dixon with his wife. Pink Collar Crimes airs Saturdays at 8pm and 9pm on CBS.
