Carmen Lynch is the 6-foot-tall comedian competing on America’s Got Talent, Season 13. The 29-year-old Spanish-American stand-up comic is known for her deadpan delivery. She’s competed on the first season of Last Comic Standing in 2003 (she made it to the semi-finals), and appeared on Late Show with David Letterman twice. When Lynch performed on Letterman in May 2014, Don Rickles — aka The Insult Comic — appeared as a guest on the show that night. She says “being on the same show with him is something I will always remember.” Rickles died three years later in April 2017 at the age of 90.

Lynch says Rickles had to leave before her set on Letterman but she made sure to meet him as he was leaving. Right before she was about to go on, Rickles needled her, asking “Are you a singer?” which Lynch thought was “hilarious.” Below is her set that Rickles missed. New episodes of America’s Got Talent air Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC, right before World of Dance.
