A season of America’s Got Talent wouldn’t be the same without a dog act. On Season 12, Sara and Hero made it far with their unbelievable dog tricks. (Thanks to Simon Cowell who gave Sara and Hero a second chance.) On Season 13, get ready to meet Shannon & Reckon. While wearing matching Incredibles-like costumes, Shannon (the human) will perform with her talented and trained Doberman dog Reckon.
When not on stage, Shannon trains dogs at Dobie Detectives Training Academy in McKinney, Texas. She was studying biomedical science at Texas A&M University when the Aggie Bonfire collapse occurred on campus in 1999. 12 people died, 24 were injured. The devastating event inspired her to pursue a career in training search dogs. She has certified six dogs in airscent and/or human remains detection. Shannon is currently the president of K9 Training Director for the Recovery Dog Network which responds on search missions. See video below. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
