In the season premiere of Little Women: LA, at Autumn’s high school graduation party, Christy’s husband Todd Gibel announced that he’s going to adopt Autumn. It was a sweet moment. On the second episode, Autumn tells her parents that she wants to move out. There’s an awkward pregnant pause before Christy whispers to her husband, “She doesn’t understand.” Christy reminds everyone that Autumn doesn’t have a job or a degree. “She doesn’t even have a driver’s license!” Christy says, “This girl needs a healthy dose of reality.”

Autumn, 18, says she’s been looking at jobs and that she’s been saving up over the past couple of years. She says she’s been looking at apartments near colleges that she’s interested in. Todd reminds her she has to get into a college first. “I have no idea where Autumn’s priorities are right now,” says Christy. When Christy calmly suggests that Autumn get a driver’s license first, Todd agrees and warns Autumn not to put the cart before the horse. Todd also asks Autumn to come up with a plan including a budget. Autumn thinks she’ll need $1500 a month to live on her own, assuming her rent is $1000. Little Women: LA airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Lifetime. [Related: Little Women LA: Jasmine Tells Terra Not To Invite Elena: VIDEO]
