On Season 16 of American Idol, get ready to meet William Casanova from Washington, D.C. No, that’s not his real name. His real name is William Pannell. According to his mother, William picked up the name in high school (Gwynn Park H.S. in Maryland) where all the girls “just loved to hear him sing.” The boys called him Casanova and it stuck ever since. William and his mom seem to be each other’s #1 fan. William calls his mom his “FAVORITE girl.”
In June 2017, William left his family home for the first time. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career. According to the post below, it was “the biggest decision of my life, to leave a home I’ve been in my ENTIRE life.” But he’s determined to make his friends and family proud “outside of that 58th Corridor.” He wants to “take care of my Momma and my Dad. Most of all, I wanna live my dream.” How can you not root for this guy? American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
