In The X-Files episode “Nothing Lasts Forever,” Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigate two murders which involve human organ theft. Both victims were impaled by metal dowels. That’s right, a literal stake through the heart. Turns out the murderer is killing and delivering the goods to Dr. Randolph Luvenis, leader of a creepy cult. Although the doctor looks healthy (albeit too tan), he spends a lot of his time in a wheelchair where he (and a lady friend) are given blood intravenously.

Dr. Luvenis is portrayed by Jere Burns. He’s known for his roles on Angie Tribeca (Chet Atkins, see cast photo below), Justified (Wynn Duffy, see link above), Bates Motel (Jake Abernathy), Burn Notice (Anson Fullerton), Good Morning, Miami (Frank Alfano), Something So Right (Jack Farrell), and Dear John with Judd Hirsch (Kirk Morris), among others. The X-Files airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
