In The Simpsons episode “Homer Is Where the Art Isn’t,” a reluctant Homer goes on a school trip to the Springfield Museum of Fine Art. There he witnesses the abstract painting “The Poetess” and becomes obsessed with it. When the painting is stolen from the museum, Homer is questioned by 1970s private detective Manacek (guest voiced by Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader). Homer also meets Megan, an avid art collector. The Manacek character is based on the ’70s TV detective Banacek (George Peppard, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The A-Team).
Art collector Megan is voiced by another SNL alum, Cecily Strong. In addition to working as Weekend Update anchor and playing Melania Trump on SNL, Strong has also appeared on recent episodes of Tina Fey’s Great News, Scream Queens, Superstore (Olympic gymnast Missy Jones), and in the 2016 film Ghostbusters (Jennifer Lynch). The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8pm on FOX, right before Brooklyn Nine-Nine starring another SNL alum Andy Samberg.
