In the Madam Secretary episode “Refuge,” Jay (Sebastian Arcelus) and Kat (Sarah Ramirez) work with Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) to stop a foreign country from terrorizing LGBTQ citizens. They turn to Brent Rose (guest star BD Wong), executive director the Human Crisis Foundation, for help on the ground. Meanwhile, McCord’s assistant Blake (Erich Bergen) and speechwriter Matt (Geoffrey Arend) have an after-work drink with Captain Ronnie Baker (see photo below).
Captain Ronnie Baker is portrayed by Justine Lupe. She’s known for her roles on Sneaky Pete (Hannah), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Astrid Weissman), Mr. Mercedes (Holly Gibney), Snowfall (Victoria), Younger (Jade), Cristela (Maddie), and Harry’s Law with Kathy Bates (Phoebe Blake), among others. Lupe is also recognized for her role as Nessa in the 2012 film Frances Ha (see link above). Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 10pm on CBS, right after NCIS: Los Angeles.
