David Francisco is an impressive singer, songwriter and musician. And he has an amazing story which he tells at his audition for American Idol, Season 16. Francisco tells the judges — Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan — about being hit by a car while he was on his bicycle in Nashville. His spinal cord was severely damaged and was told that he would never walk again. That was almost two years ago. He’s now walking, with crutches, and with the help of his lovely girlfriend Kristy.
Prior to the American Idol auditions airing, David Francisco got the chance to jam with Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves. He posted the video below in August 2017. When Katy Perry meets him, she tells him he has the most beautiful eyes. And then they play acoustic guitars and sing Musgraves’ song “Follow Your Arrow” together on a big white sofa. Think Francisco might have a bit of an advantage with the judge sitting front and center? He has a beautiful voice to go with those eyes. American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
