For the first Battle Rounds on The Voice Season 14, coach Blake Shelton brings in country legend Trace Adkins to help him get his artists ready. Blake fought hard to get Kyla Jade on his team. Kyla, the 33-year-old who sang backup with former Voice coach Jennifer Hudson, performed Aretha Franklin’s “See Saw” for her Blind Audition. Kyla chose Blake over Kelly Clarkson. Now Kyla’s fighting against Team Blake singer JessLee, the 26-year-old from Florida who won the iHeart Country Showdown in 2017.

Kyla and JessLee sing the Ariana Grande song “One Last Time.”* Shelton says watching the battle was like watching a performance at the Grammys. Grande has never won a Grammy (neither has Shelton) but 15x Grammy winner Alicia Keys clearly enjoys the duet as does 3x Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson who gets out of her chair and dances. It’s going to be a tough decision for Blake, but a great steal opportunity for the other coaches. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
*In June 2017, Grande re-released “One Last Time” as a charity single following the Manchester Arena bombing at her concert.
