In the Little Women: Atlanta season finale episode “Ex & the City,” while pregnant Andrea is at home experiencing what she thinks is early labor, Tanya and the girls travel to New York City. While in the city, they meet Sam‘s parents for dinner. Sam also announces that there’s “a guy” and that “he might come to see me.” But in the preview video below, Sam is in tears standing outside of the restaurant. “Michael had just one job, and it was to be here,” says Sam.
Although she said he might come and see, she clearly reverted to her “all or nothing” coping mechanism. Just two episodes ago, Sam went to see a therapist about her love life and commitment issues (see clip below). It was her first time in therapy but she handled it like a pro. Sam explained to the doctor that “When I was younger, a lot of people didn’t take interest in me. But as I got older, the rules switched. I was the one who didn’t care anymore, and I was pushing people away.” Sam went on to say, “I had been played for so long, I felt like it was my turn.” Sam admitted she wanted revenge and “now I’m just lonely.” The doctor gives Sam good advice. She suggests that Sam just “try to get to know someone like a friend.” It doesn’t have to be “all or nothing.” Sometimes are just easier said than done. Little Women: Atlanta airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Lifetime.
