In the Say Yes to the Dress episode “That’s How You Dress a Lady,” Monica Beets, one of the stars of Discovery Channel’s reality show Gold Rush, comes to Kleinfeld. She and “her colorful family have fun being fish out of water” at the fancy bridal salon in Manhattan. Gold Rush features Monica, her father and two brothers who are gold miners from Yukon, Canada. When out on the job, Monica operates heavy equipment so her daily wardrobe requires a hardhat and a safety vest. She certainly isn’t afraid of getting dirty, so seeing her try on pristine white wedding dresses will shock many Gold Rush fans.
Some fans might be surprised to learn that Monica is getting married — because she doesn’t post photos of her fiance on Instagram. Say Yes to the Dress airs Saturdays at 8pm on TLC. Gold Rush airs Fridays at 9pm.
