In The Blacklist episode “The Invisible Hand,” when the bodies of bad people are found abandoned in the woods, Red (James Spader) works with the Task Force to find the Invisible Hand, “a group that targets those whose actions are morally reprehensible yet fully legal.” Meanwhile, Liz (Megan Boone) shows up at the secluded home of her grandfather Dom, father of Liz’s mother Katarina. We first met Dom in the April 2016 episode “The Artax Network (No. 41),” when Samar found Dom to tell him his granddaughter Liz (“Masha”) was dead.

Dom is portrayed by Brian Dennehy. The 79-year-old actor is known for his roles in the films Presumed Innocent (Raymond Horgan), Cocoon (Walter), Silverado (Cobb), First Blood (Teasle, see photo below), and in the 2001 TV movie Death of a Salesman (Willy Loman), for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award and won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor. among many others. Dennehy will appear next on the big screen in the film adaptation of Chekov’s play The Seagull starring Annette Bening and Saoirse Ronan. The Blacklist airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC, right before Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
