While NBC is airing the 2018 Olympics Winter Games, ABC is broadcasting The Bachelor Winter Games. Twenty-five camera-ready bachelors and bachelorettes from around the world to compete and hopefully fall in love in Manchester, Vermont. Americans include Ben Higgins (who split from fiancee Lauren Bushnell in May) and easy-to-cry Ashley Iaconetti. From Europe comes male model Christian Rauch (he was on The Bachelor in Germany and Switzerland), and from Asia comes Yuki Kimura (Japan), among others.
[Yuri reveals she likes The Chainsmokers]
Yuki Kimura is just 21 years old. She was the first season of Japan’s version of The Bachelor last year. The Bachelor’s American host Chris Harrison says Yuki “will take over America and become maybe the biggest star in the world.” Although she knows very little English (she relies on a translator), Harrison says she will “absolutely captivate everybody.” According to The New York Times, who saw the filming of an episode, when Yuki cried out to American bachelor Dean Unglert, “Me, rose!” the producers in the control room “laughed approvingly.” One of them reportedly said “I need a ringtone of her.” The Bachelor Winter Games airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
