In the America’s Next Top Model episode “Beauty Is Drama,” the top 13 contestants receive a script. They must memorize their lines overnight. In the morning they’re each playing a married woman having dinner with her husband. When they show up for the screen test, they learn that Emmy Award winner Anthony Hemingway is the director, and actor Kevin Phillips is playing the husband. Hemingway is directing Phillips in the new true crime drama Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. which premieres on USA on February 27. Whoever wins the challenge will be given a speaking role in one of Hemingway’s upcoming projects.
Before Unsolved, Hemingway directed episodes of Major Crimes, Shameless, Underground, American Crime Story (The O.J. Simpson Story), The Newsroom, Treme, True Blood, and CSI: NY, among others. Hemingway is also recognized for his 2012 film Red Tails about the African-American pilots in the Tuskegee training program during World War II, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. Terrence Howard, and David Oyelowo.
