FOX’s singing show The Four: Battle For Stardom starts where other talent competitions end. The series premiere (January 4) features four already vetted young singers from a variety of genres. Over six weeks, the four have to compete with newcomers who are looking to steal their seats on the show. The last man or woman standing wins the career guidance of the four panelists: DJ Khaled, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Meghan Trainor (see link below), and music exec Charlie Walk. (Fergie is the host.)

One of the four singers is Elanese Lansen. The 22-year-old college student (Florida Atlantic University) from Boca Raton, Florida has been singing since she was 10. Her top three inspirations are powerhouse singers Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, and Amy Winehouse. (Check out some of her covers below.) The Four isn’t Elanese’s first time on national TV either. In 2013, at the age of 18, she made it on The X Factor USA on FOX. She admits that Simon Cowell was a little intimidating at first. See video below. The Four airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
