In the Shameless episode “The Education of Liam Fergus Beircheart Gallagher,” while Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) loses his scholarship and has to find another way to pay tuition, Frank (William H. Macy) picks up Liam (Brenden Sims) at his private school. Frank receives disturbing news from his teacher, Anne Seery. Liam failed a standardized test. According to the teacher, Liam didn’t just chose answers randomly; when asked to fill in the blanks, he crossed out the provided answers and provided his own. For example, for ‘Karen (blanked) the glue to finish her project’ Liam answered sniffed. Another question involved the child knowing what a foyer is. Frank claims cultural bias.
Liam’s teacher is portrayed by Jennifer Taylor. She’s known for her roles on Two and a Half Men (Charlie’s girlfriend Chelsea, see photos below) and Burn Notice (Elsa), among others. Taylor is currently filming God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness with John Corbett (Northern Exposure, Sex and the City) and Oscar winner Tatum O’Neal (Paper Moon). Shameless airs Sundays at 9PM on SHOWTIME.
