Country singers are known to sing sad songs. And 21-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Vince Gill is no exception. He’s performing one of his saddest love songs ever on The Voice Season 13 Live Finale — “When I Call Your Name.” It’s about a man in love who comes home to find that his lover is gone. The song includes the lyrics: “Your love has ended but mine still remains /But nobody answers when I call your name.” Over and over he calls her name! Gill will sing his sad 1989 song with The Voice finalist Red Marlow (on Blake Shelton’s team) before the winner of The Voice is announced.

“When I Call Your Name” earned Gill his first Grammy for Best Country Performance, Male. Gill wrote the song before he met his future wife, Christian music singer Amy Grant in 1993. They married in 2000. The winner of The Voice will be announced Tuesday, December 19 (9pm on NBC).
