Country superstar singer Trisha Yearwood won’t be physically present on the stage during The Voice Season 13 Live Finale but her spirit will be there. For the finale, Red Marlow of Team Blake will sing the song “Make You Feel My Love” which was recorded by Trisha Yearwood and also, separately, her husband Garth Brooks. Both versions are on the Hope Floats soundtrack. (Fun fact: Bob Dylan wrote the song!) Yearwood fans will be pleased to learn that Addison Agen on Team Adam will sing an original song, ‘Tennessee Rain’ by the songwriters of Yearwood’s #1 1996 hit “Believe Me Baby (I Lied).”

Songwriters Angelo Petraglia and Larry Gottlieb wrote “Believe Me Baby (I Lied)” with Kim Richey, and all three were nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Country Song” in 1997. That was two decades ago, before The Voice or iTunes. “Tennessee Rain” might just give Petraglia and Gottlieb their next smash hit. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
