In the Life in Pieces episode “Meal Potty Cart Middle,” while Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones) and Greg (Colin Hanks) try to potty-train Lark, Tim (Dan Bakkedahl) and Heather (Betsy Brandt) celebrate their wedding anniversary. They go to a fancy restaurant and plan to enjoy every bite of their 20-course meal. Their gorgeous server is Stephanie.
Stephanie is portrayed by expert foodie Padma Lakshmi. The Indian-born model/actress is known for hosting and judging the reality cooking TV show on Bravo, Top Chef, since 2006. She has written three cookbooks: The Encyclopedia of Spices & Herbs, Tangy Tart Hot and Sweet: A World of Recipes for Every Day, and Easy Exotic: Low-Fat Recipes from Around the World. Lakshmi was married to author Salman Rushdie (see below), who dedicated his novel Fury to her. Life in Pieces airs Thursdays at 9:30 PM on CBS, right after Mom, and right before S.W.A.T.
