The holiday season officially kicks off when the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center is lighted. The live event is hosted by NBC Today anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker, (Matt Lauer will not be present as scheduled due to misconduct reports which led to his dismissal from the network earlier in the day). A number of entertainers will perform in front of the tree including country star Jennifer Nettles, a cappella group Pentatonix, pop diva Gwen Stefani, and The Tenors.
