In the Designated Survivor episode “Home,” President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) makes an unannounced visit to Afghanistan for a secret mission. He’s greeted by Agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) and is introduced to two infamous warlords. While the Commander-in-Chief wants “this cycle of violence” to stop in Afghanistan, Wells tells Kirkman one of the warlords is planning an attack on U.S. soil. The problem is that even with all the U.S. intel they’ve gathered, they still can’t figure out which one to trust.
Behind enemy lines in a war strategy room, Kirkman says, “We could be responsible for our nation’s next 9/11.” NBC describes it as “the most heart-pounding, high stakes, explosive episode of the season.” In the sneak peek below, during an explosion on the military base, Kirkman is escorted out of a tent but is there enough time for him escape without injury? Designed Survivor airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
