In the Gotham episode “A Dark Knight: They Who Hide Behind Masks,” while Gordon (Ben McKenzie) travels to Miami to convince Carmine Falcone (John Doman) to help him take down Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) approaches Penguin about a knife about to be sold at his auction. Penguin says he’ll sell it to her before the auction if she reveals the identity of her client, who Penguin refers to as her “mysterious benefactor.” Barbara’s client is Ra’s al Ghul (Arabic for “Head of the Demon”).
