Actress Rose McGowan (Devil in the Flesh) has been enormously vocal on social media since the Harvey Weinstein revelations were made public. McGowan is allegedly among the women that the disgraced Hollywood mogul settled with after she leveled sexual abuse charges at him. McGowan’s social media activity in the wake of the scandal has been in service of exposing those in Weinstein’s circle as co-conspirators by their silence — when they knew what he was doing. When actor Ben Affleck tweeted that he didn’t know about Weinstein’s behavior, McGowan called out the Batman actor, saying frankly: “YOU LIE.” McGowan claims she spoke to Affleck about Weinstein, and Affleck told her he’d told Weinstein to “stop doing that.” You don’t tell someone to stop doing something you don’t know they’re doing, right?

McGowan’s goal is to “AMPLIFY” as she says. that’s where #ROSEARMY comes in — she’s asking people to join the ROSEARMY to help amplify her message, especially since there are, in her own words, “powerful forces at work” against her message. McGowan is naming the names of those she thinks are culpable — and who knew about Weinstein. (First names, at least, but insiders know who they are.) McGowan now reports that her Twitter commentary has been deemed inappropriate by Twitter, which she says has suspended her account. McGowan wrote: “TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME. THERE ARE POWERFUL FORCES AT WORK. BE MY VOICE. #ROSEARMY #whywomendontreport.” She was able to post this on Instagram, where her account remains in good standing. McGowan’s book BRAVE is due out in February — the story of “the story of how I fought my way out of these cults and reclaimed my life.”
