Kelly Clarkson knows a lot about music, televised singing competitions and toddlers. The 35-year-old American Idol winner and mother of two toddlers is going to share her wisdom as a coach on Season 14 of The Voice. When it came time for Clarkson to announce her new job and who the fourth coach would be, she filmed a fun clip on the set wearing a cute off-the-shoulder top with a big golden 14 on it.
[Kelly Clarkson is also a children’s book author!]
In the clip, Clarkson announces who the fourth coach will be (Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson will not return) by opening a door. First, there’s Blake Shelton who pretends not to know anything. (Adam would say that’s easy for Blake, btw, pretending to know nothing.) “I’ve been a coach since Season 1,” Blake tells Kelly. She pushes him back and calls him a toddler. She opens it again, and there’s Adam Levine posing proudly. Kelly pushes him back too. Finally, out pops returning coach Alicia Keys who won Season 12 with her artist Chris Blue. With Alicia by her side, Kelly says, “Let’s get rid of the toddlers and it’s just me and Alicia this season.” Alicia thinks that’s a great idea. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
