(The Italian word contrapasso means to “suffer the opposite.” Dante used the word to describe the punishment of souls in The Inferno.)
Meanwhile, Langan (Peter Hermann) delivers devastating news to Benson (Mariska Hargitay) regarding her son Noah, which involves a new character portrayed by actress Brooke Shields. “I play a very different character from any I have ever played,” said Shields. “I’m excited to stir the SVU pot a bit.” Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
