HBO’s new drama The Deuce features James Franco as twin brothers, Vincent and Frankie Martino. They’re living in New York City’s Times Square in the early 1970s when approached by the Mob to work as fronts. (Frankie works as a bartender.) The mobster who sees potential in Vincent is Rudy Pipilo, a Gambino family capo who oversees the family’s financial interest in the sex industry — which is booming.
