On the first night of Blind Auditions on The Voice, Janice Freeman from Compton, California said, “I fought my whole life for this moment.” She’s gone through a lot in life including a battle with cervical cancer, which she won. She’s been cancer-free for two years. For her audition she chose the Imagine Dragons song “Radioactive.” Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson turned their chairs and then the two coaches went to battle — to win Janice for their team.

After the performance, Adam Levine said “You turned that alt-rock song into a swampy, dirty song.” That was a high compliment. Miley Cyrus says, “I like that song so much better now.” Janice chose to work with Miley because she said she wanted to expose herself to different things as an artist. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
