On the first night of Blind Auditions on The Voice, Season 13, Mitchell Lee of Nashville sang the Hootie & the Blowfish song “Hold My Hand.” Supposed to go to the Citadel and then become a dentist, Mitchell chose another path — to become a singer and entertainer. Mitchell was moved by the death of his mother when he was 22– she always saw him as a “rock star” not a dentist. He hopes to fulfill her dreams for him, and change people’s vibes along the way.
Three of the four coaches turned around for Mitchell– Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Jennifer Hudson. Adam said, “The ladies are going to love you, which never hurts,” and the lady coaches agreed. Blake says, “You sound country to me.” JHud said, “It’s amazing to see how confident you are, and it shows.” Miley Cyrus suggested that he trie something else (outside of the country lane) with JHud. Mitchell chose Blake. “He has a rock voice but has a Southern drawl,” which is going to be fun to work with, Blake said. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
