Meet the Putmans is a new TLC show that follows Bill and Barb Putman, a couple who have been married for 34 years. They and their four children, and their spouses and their 15 children live together, under one roof. Bill says with pride, “We’re reincarnating the old family, where everybody took care of everybody. It’s a beautiful thing.” That said, the camera doesn’t see Bill doing the laundry. His wife Barb says “Here in this house there is constant laundry, constant dishes, constant picking-up, constant commotion, constant making beds, constant everything.”
Barb gives an example of the work involved by pointing out that with 25 people in the house, they have to wash 50 socks a day, 25 pair of underwear, and 25 towels if everyone showers. Keep in mind, there is only one washer and dryer in the house. The Putmans also use just one bank account as they pool their finances together. And if you’re wondering, there are only two-and-a-half bathrooms. Meet the Putmans airs Mondays at 10pm on TLC.
