The first act to perform on America’s Got Talent‘s second semi-finals round was 9-year-old singer Celine Tam. The package shown before her performance featured Celine, her little sister, and her father. There’s even a cameo appearance by a Celine Dion impersonator who is eager to meet with Celine Tam. If you watch AGT, you know that Celine Tam’s biggest dream is win the competition and to meet Celine Dion. She has a good chance.
While Celine sang the song “How Far I’ll Go,” AGT Judge Simon Cowell was playing an imaginary piano as he listened. After the performance, Cowell told Celine “That was a massive, massive step up. The song was perfect for you, and the key change was great.” It also doesn’t hurt that the song is from the Disney animated film Moana (see above link), a favorite of Cowell’s young son Eric. The results of the semifinals will be announced on Wednesday, September 13 at 8pm on NBC. The winner of America’s Got Talent, Season 12 will be announced on Wednesday, September 20 at 8pm.
