Extreme Sandbox is a 10-acre site in Minnesota where adults can have fun while learning how to operate and play with heavy construction equipment like bulldozers and excavators among other “toys.” The CEO of Extreme Sandbox, Randy Stenger, pitched his business and his plan to expand the business in different states on Shark Tank in January 2016. He accepted an investment of $150,000 from Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary in exchange for 20 percent equity in Extreme Sandbox.
Since Shark Tank, Extreme Sandbox announced an exclusive equipment sponsorship with construction equipment company Komatsu America in March. And in April, the company opened its second location — in Pottsboro, Texas, near the Tanglewood resort. And in July 2017, an Extreme Sandbox Construction Camp was offered to students 14 to 20-years-old who are interested in careers in operation, basic repair, inspection and maintenance. Extreme Sandbox has added fire trucks to their sites, too!
