When Simon Cowell watched the audition of boy band 5 Alive on America’s Got Talent, Season 12, he asked if it was a joke. Fellow judge Mel B doesn’t think so. She went crazy for the Bell Biv DeVoe-inspired performance and the 90s looking band. Mel fought for 5 Alive and now they’re performing again on AGT for the Judge Cuts.
If you’re a fan of 5 Alive — that is, more of a Mel B type than a Simon Cowell type — be sure to check out the band’s online shop where they’re selling 5 Alive t-shirts for $23.50. The black shirts which come in crew, v-neck and tank cuts are emblazoned with a white gloved hand (that’s the five) holding a red lipped mouth that has a long red tongue sticking out of it. Simon may be right, but if memory serves there was another band that used a tongue as their symbol for a while. What was their name again? Oh yeah, that’s right, the Rolling Stones — can you say 40 Licks? America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
