On the Season 4 premiere episode of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, “Penn & Teller Teach You a Trick”, four magicians perform their best trick to try to fool the famous magic duo of Penn & Teller. One of the performers is Texan Richard Turner who’s known for his expert card manipulation. New audiences are amazed to learn that he’s blind. (He lost his eyesight at the age of 9 after contracting a retinal degeneration disease.) As Turner says, “One day I could see the blackboard, the next day I couldn’t.”
Turner’s been around. Filmmaker Terrence Malick asked Turner to be in his Tree of Life film with star Brad Pitt. See clip below. As always, watch Turner very carefully. Turner’s in the cowboy shirt and mustache. Turner most recently wowed a crowd of engineers at MIT (see below). Penn & Teller: Fool Us airs Thursdays at 8pm on CW.
