Colin Cloud aka The Deductionist auditioned for America’s Got Talent, Season 12. For his performance, the forensic mind reader promised to show the world “the closest thing to a real-life Sherlock Holmes.” He proceeded to get everyone in the audience and all four judges — and even host Tyra Banks involved. While Colin approached the judges, he had Tyra sitting on a stool. He returned to the stool at the end of the trick. When he asked Tyra to open the stool, Colin pulled out a small cat. That white cat had a name tag engraved with the name Oscar (the cat’s color and name are relevant to the trick, see video below).
Prior to his audition airing on AGT, Colin reassured his fans on Facebook that Oscar’s safety was a priority and that Oscar “wasn’t in a box” but rather in an “ottoman stool.” He also revealed that both he and Oscar had spent time in the room beforehand (“completely in secret to the judges”) and he made sure the cat “wasn’t frightened or scared by the audience cheering or the buzzers sounding.” America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
