Mary Russell is known as Britain’s small model — she is 4’1” tall. Since 2014, Mary has been working with Models of Diversity (MOD) which is committed to diversifying the catwalk. Mary, now a 47-year-old single mom, says “when I’m doing catwalk shows the adrenaline kicks in, and the excitement helps to numb the pain – but as soon as I’m backstage I need to sit down and have a break because my back’s playing up.” All the more reason for Mary to transition into a career of fashion design!
