Dubai Police are the proud owners of a Bugatti Veyron which can go 253 mph and go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. Guinness World Records says it’s the fastest police car in service. (It should be, it costs about $1.5 million.) The Bugatti is one of 14 supercars used by Dubai police. Others including a Aston Martin One-77, a Bentley Continental GT, two BMW i8S, and three hybrid Porsche Panameras.
Major Sultan Al Marri of Dubai Police’s General Department of Transport & Rescue told CNN why they opt to buy supercars: “We’re not looking to just show off with the car, we’re looking to show tourists how friendly the police is here in Dubai. We are looking for ways to connect with people all the time.”
