The Dateline episode ‘Taken’ investigates the disappearance of 23-year-old Christina Morris. She was last seen in August 2014 leaving a high-end shopping mall in Plano, Texas with former high school classmate Enrique Arochi. Although Morris’ body has yet to be found, her DNA was found on the mat in the trunk of Arochi’s Camaro. Arochi’s defense challenged the DNA finding and suggested police overlooked Morris’ boyfriend Hunter Foster as a suspect, who was serving a 33-month sentence in jail for conspiracy to distribute MDMA during Arochi’s trial. Foster was expected to testify at Arochi’s trial but instead exercised his Fifth Amendment right not to testify. His lawyers said Foster couldn’t testify without incriminating himself for drug dealing the night Christina disappeared.
Plano Detective Aaron Benzick did testifie and said that a forensic extraction of Arochi’s cell phone had turned up “extreme deviant sexual images … some of the most intense” he’s seen. In September 2016, Arochi was found guilty of the aggravated kidnapping of Morris and was sentenced to life in prison. Dateline NBC airs Fridays at 9pm on NBC.
