Noura Jackson was 18 years old when she found her mother, 39-year-old Jennifer Jackson, brutally murdered in her bedroom in June 2005. Jennifer Jackson had been stabbed to death (51 times). Three months later, Noura was arrested and charged with matricide. She was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in jail. After serving 11 years in jail, Noura Jackson’s conviction was overturned and she was ordered a new trial. Instead of going into a new trial, she opted to accept an Alford plea (she pleaded guilty to manslaughter and maintained her innocence). Based on the time she already served, Noura Jackson was released from prison in August 2016.
