Superior Donuts is a new CBS comedy about a donut shop in Chicago that’s barely surviving. To keep bring in new business, the owner, an older white man named Arthur (Judd Hirsch) hires a young black man named Franco (Jermaine Fowler). Their banter about the problems of the world and how they relate to them are the highlight of the show. As is their banter with customers including college student Maya.
Maya is portrayed by Anna Baryshnikov. The 24-year-old actress (and daughter of world-renowned ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov) is known for her roles in the Amazon series Good Girls Revolt, Blue Bloods (Jenny Strong), and The Mysteries of Laura (Tracy Dunn). Baryshnikov most recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film Manchester by the Sea (girlfriend Sandy). Superior Donuts airs Thursdays at 8:30pm on CBS.
