In the Powerless episode ‘Sinking Day’, while Van’s father Vanderveer Wayne, Sr. (Corbin Bernsen) tries to right his son Van’s wrong, a new employee named Alex appears. Based on Alex’s appearance — his Clark Kent raven hair, eyeglasses and Olympic swimmer shoulders, Teddy and Ron suspect Alex is a superhero in disguise.
The Olympian Alex is portrayed by Matthew Atkinson. He’s known for his roles on The Young and the Restless (Austin Travers), Parenthood (Zach), and Jane by Design (Nick Fadden), among others. Powerless airs Thursdays at 8:30pm on NBC.
