During Season 4 of Married to Medicine, Quad Webb-Lunceford has been taking care of her nephew Mason, while her brother has been looking for a new job. Quad has grown attached to the baby. In the season finale episode, Mason’s mother Monica tells Quad she wants to take Mason back home. Quad says, “I’m not going to stop you. I can only support you in this. I’m going to help you as much as I can with Mason.” Quad offers to help (in a backhanded kind of way) by telling Monica: “I’m not saying you’re going to do a bad job as his mom, I know you love him. I know that you’ll make all the sacrifices necessary for him.” Monica starts to cry and excuses herself from the room. Quad says she just wants to make sure that Mason, “this young black boy, is set up for success.”
When Monica leaves the room, Quad breaks down in tears. She says to the camera, “Don’t take my nephew away from me. I was willing to do anything for him. And I have to sit back because I’m not his mom.” She repeats, “I am not his mom. What can I do?” Married to Medicine airs Fridays at 8pm on Bravo.
