Michael “Mike” Flynn is the retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General who was named the 25th National Security Advisor in 2017. He resigned after serving President Donald Trump for 24 days amid controversy concerning his contacts with Russian officials. Before being commissioned in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in military intelligence in 1981, the Rhode Island native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management science from the University of Rhode Island.
Flynn also earned his MBA in Telecommunications from Golden Gate University, a Master of Military Art and Science degree from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. P.S. Keith Kellogg, a retired Lieutenant General in the United States Army is currently serving as the Acting National Security Advisor in the Trump Administration. Kellogg is a graduate of Santa Clara University (BA) and University of Kansas, Lawrence (BS).
