In the Pure Genius episode ‘Hero Worship’, while Dr. Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) treats a young patient who cannot walk, James Bell (Augustus Prew) connects a number of respiratory cases to a microchip factory. On top of that, the factory responsible for the environmental contamination is owned by James’ tech hero, Douglas Prescott who doesn’t respond the way James had hoped.
Prescott is portrayed by David Paymer. He’s been in everything but is perhaps best known for his roles on the TV shows The Good Wife (Judge Richard Cuesta), The Larry Sanders Show (Norman Litkey), The Commish (Arnie Metzger), Cagney & Lacey (Todd Feldberg), Cheers (Phil Schumacher), and in the films Nixon (Ron Ziegler), Get Shorty (Leo Devoe), City Slickers (Ira Shalowitz), Quiz Show (Dan Enright), and Amistad (Secretary John Forsyth), to name a few. Pure Genius airs Thursdays at 10pm on CBS.
