In the Madam Secretary episode ‘Gift Horse,’ while Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) struggles with what to do with a horse given to her by Mongolia, and her daughter Stevie (Wallis Currie-Wood) begins working as an intern for Chief of Staff Russell Jackson (Zeljko Ivanek), Governor Sam Evans threatens to sue the State of Ohio for putting President Dalton (Keith Carradine) on the election ballot.
Governor Evans is portrayed by J.C. MacKenzie. He’s also known for his roles on Vinyl (Skip Fontaine, see below), Hemlock Grove and Murder One (Dr. Arnold Spivak), The Shield (Detective Kouf) and Dark Angel (Reagan “Normal” Ronald), among others. MacKenzie is also recognized for his roles in three Leo DiCaprio films — The Aviator (Ludlow), The Departed (Realtor), and The Wolf of Wall Street (Lucas Solomon). Fun fact: MacKenzie has a son with screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train, Secretary, Chloe). Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 9pm on CBS.
