On the Mariah’s World episode ‘The Show Must Go On’, while dancer Bryan Tanaka realizes that his potentially romantic relationship with Mariah wasn’t real, Mariah must perform in Paris after learning about the death of Prince. In remembrance of the great purple sage, she sang her song, “One Sweet Day” which is about the death of a loved one. She said “Prince was one of the best people I ever met,” and that she often confided in him. “He actually helped me through a lot of situations with his knowledge.”
In 1997, Mariah Carey recorded a duet of the Prince song “The Beautiful Ones” with Dru Hill on her album Butterfly. The original song “The Beautiful Ones” is on Prince’s Purple Rain album. It’s a song about unrequited love. Mariah’s World airs Sundays at 9pm on E!
