Deshauna Barber is the first woman actively serving in the US Army Reserve to win the title of Miss USA. The 27-year-old soldier is competing in the 65th annual Miss Universe pageant which will be televised from the Philippines. Although she has a Masters of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and has worked as an IT Analyst for the U.S. Department of Commerce, Barber will prove she’s more than a smart woman. She will take the Miss Universe stage wearing a shiny silver bikini with matching cape and thigh-high boots, and a winged headpiece while carrying a shield depicting two eagles. See below. Barber refers to the shiny silver bikini, boots, headpiece and shield as her National Costume.
